You walked around on these walkways through the ruins, and some parts were glass so you could see what you were walking over!
It was a ton of ruins, we went pretty fast and it took us an hour! We got there right as it opened, so we had the place to ourselves.
Afterwards we went back to the Boqueria for one last 1-Euro fresh juice. I got pineapple-coconut this time. I love that place.
Then we got on the bus and went to Tarrragona, a city about an hour-ish South. Here we grabbed lunch, then went to... more Roman ruins! This time it was the ruins of a chariot-racing stadium, and then the ruins of an amphitheater. There were some amazing views, with the Roman ruins and the Mediterranean sea in the background.
Gotta love that Mediterranean view!
View of Tarragona from the top of the tower in the chariot-racing stadium.
And on the other side is the sea!

Then this evening we went to Salou, which is a beach-resort town another 20 minutes down the shore. We stayed in the very classy Hotel California Gardens, which of course inspired many renditions of the Eagles song among group members ("Welcome to the Hotel California, such a lovely place, such a lovely face"). They didn't have free wifi, so that's why I couldn't post til now.
We went to the beach in the evening. I didn't bring my camera to the shore, so I don't have any photos, but maybe that's for the better. All the gelato and pastries and everything have taken their toll on the group, I ain't gonna lie, hehe.
In the evening Kjerstie and Virginia and I wanted paella, and we found this little place that was a little more expensive than we were hoping, but we decided to go for it. It was a fantastic decision.
We knew it was gonna be good when he brought over another table to put the pan on.
JUST LOOK AT THIS.
Me and my crazy beach hair and the paella. Oh by the way, that's pronounced like pie-ey-ya. It's rice, cooked in a giant pan in broth with veggies and basically whatever you want. We got one with mariscos, sea food. Mussels and octopus and shrimp with their heads and legs on and other sea creatures I don't know the name of but it was so wonderful!
Oh and when you eat paella, make sure you put lemon juice on it. So much better.
It is amazing to see you eat sea food :O What has happened to my daughter?
